ARTIST STATEMENT



My practice explores the intersections of art, environment, and community, creating works that reveal how planetary systems sculpt both landscapes and human experience. Through sound, video installation, light, and public space interventions, I investigate how atmosphere and climate inscribe memory in matter and space. Rooted in regenerative business design and environmental conservation, my practice is grounded in ethical collaboration with communities while remaining responsive and intuitive to the landscapes I inhabit.

I am fascinated by how climatic memory is embedded in biological bodies and proxy data. In Archeology of the Sky, I translate the growth rings of trees into real-time sound compositions, turning decades of atmospheric conditions into audible presence. The work explores wood as a memory device—an archive of soil, sky, and time.

In Atmosphere of Rivers, I draw from NOAA’s meteorological data to visualize the hydrological bond between the Amazon Rainforest and California. This immersive video installation renders thirty years of atmospheric river flows as a shifting digital fabric that tightens or loosens with the volume of water vapor, allowing audiences to sense the fragile interconnectedness of global water cycles.

Alongside these explorations of sound and weather, I work with light and architecture to probe how built environments generate meaning. Architectural Kinetics reimagines facades as dynamic light sculptures, transforming modernist grids into shifting geometries of movement and color. In Public Space, a projection at Chicago’s Doane Observatory, I intervened with text from space law treaties to provoke reflection on the sovereignty of celestial bodies in an era of renewed space colonization.

Across these projects, I aim to cultivate protocols of listening and attunement—to trees, rivers, skies, and the architectures we inhabit. By rendering visible and audible the hidden archives of climate and atmosphere, my work invites audiences to experience the environment not as backdrop, but as a living presence—an active archive of memory, time, and possibility.
